In 2003, he made his debut in Ken Ghosh's Ishq Vishk Pyaar Vyaar , opposite Amrita Rao and Shenaz Tresurywala. The movie proved to be a great hit and did well at the box office. His first big screen appearance was in a dance sequence in Taal. He is a part of Shaimak Davar's dance troupe and apparently Shaimak's favourite.

Being the son of the living legend, Amitabh Bachchan and actress Jaya Bachchan, life perhaps was difficult for Abhishek in terms of meeting expectations of the audience and the film industry itself.
